Force

modifiers/force·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

The Force operator sums all forces at each point's position and writes the result to PartForce (or another Output Attribute), adding to the incoming value or replacing it. Force types include Radial, Directional, Vortex, Tornado, Planar, Line, Turbulence (curl noise), Drag and Spring, each with a viewport guide.

A distance falloff (Linear, Smooth or Inverse Distance) and an optional POPX falloff attribute shape where the force acts, and a Specification POP turns each of its points into a separate force with per-point overrides. Place it before a Particle POP target or inside a simulation's feedback loop; Rotate to Force can also turn POPX instances along their force.

PAGEForce
GroupGroupIf there are input groups, specifying a group name in this field will cause this POP to act only upon the group specified.
Specification POPSpecpopReference to a POP where each point is a specification defining a separate force.
Display ForceDisplayforceWhen enabled, renders a guide of each force in the viewport for reference.
StrengthStrengthForce magnitude. Negative values reverse the force direction.
LengthLengthLength of the force axis for Vortex, Tornado and Line. 0 makes the axis infinite.
LiftLiftSets the strength of the Tornado force along its axis, relative to Strength.
InwardInwardSets the strength of the Tornado pull toward its axis, relative to Strength.
SeedSeedNumerical value that initializes the randomization.
PeriodPeriodPeriod (scale) of the turbulence noise.
TimeTimeMoves the turbulence noise through its 4th dimension. Animate it, for example with absTime.seconds, to evolve the turbulence.
Output AttributeOutputattrName of the attribute where the force is stored.
Clamp ForceClampforceLimits the length of the resulting force vector.
Max ForceMaxforceMaximum length of the force vector when Clamp Force is enabled.
Rotate to ForceRotatetoforceTurns the +Z axis of each POPX instance along its force (up +Y). Positions are unchanged.
PAGEFalloff
RadiusRadiusThe radius of the falloff. Also sets the guide size.
Inner RadiusInnerradiusDistance up to which the Linear and Smooth falloff stays at full strength.
ExponentExponentSets the exponent on the falloff curve.
Near LimitNearlimitThe near-range limit of the Inverse Distance falloff.
Do FalloffDofalloffWeight the effect on each point by the Falloff Attribute.
Falloff AttributeFalloffattrThe point attribute, 0 to 1, that weights the effect.
PAGECommon
BypassBypassPass through the first input to the output unchanged.
Free Extra GPU MemoryFreeextragpumemFree memory that has accumulated when output memory has grown and shrunk.
Render PrimitivesRenderprimitivesWhether to render the full POPX geometry. When off, only point instances are drawn.
Convert to Point PrimitivesConverttoptprimEnable converting points to point primitives when Render Primitives is off.
SRT / RSTSrtrstSets the transform order, SRT or RST, used when the points are rendered as TouchDesigner instances.
Input 0 POP - POPX/POP Geometry
Output 0 POP - POPX/POP Geometry
