Clip

tools/clip·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

The Clip operator cuts plain POP geometry the way a Clip SOP does. Triangles and quads that cross the cut get new points on the crossing edges and are re-triangulated, so the boundary is exact instead of stepping by whole primitives, and the seam is fused so the cut edge stays watertight.

Clip By Plane uses a list of Plane blocks, each placed by Origin and Direction or by Translate and Rotate and offset by Distance, cut in turn; Clip By Attribute follows the iso-contour of a point attribute at Clip Value, so a POPX falloff can shape the cut. Keep the Above side, the Below side, or Both tagged in groups, and use Snapping Tolerance to avoid slivers near the cut.

PAGEClip
PlanePlaneClip planes. The geometry is cut by every enabled plane in turn.
EnabledPlane0enabledEnable this plane.
DistancePlane0distanceOffsets the plane along its normal.
Display GuideDisplayguideDraw the clip planes in the viewer. The guide is never rendered.
Clip ValueClipvalueAttribute value the cut runs through. Higher values are above the cut.
Snapping ToleranceSnaptolPoints closer than this to the cut snap onto it instead of being cut, to avoid slivers.
Above GroupAbovegroupPoint group for the above side of the cut, used when Keep is Both.
Below GroupBelowgroupName of the point group for the below side when Keep is Both.
Copy Topology Info Back to CPUCpureadbackEnable copying the point count and topology information held on the GPU to the CPU.
