Heightfield Falloff

fields/heightfield-falloff·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

Heightfield Falloff selects areas of a height field by its features and writes the result as a falloff layer. Each enabled criterion gives a soft 0 to 1 selection: Height between a minimum and a maximum, Slope between two angles, Curvature for peaks and ridges or valleys and creases, and Direction for the way a slope faces.

Criteria Combine merges the criteria (Multiply keeps only where all match, Maximum where any does), and the result combines with the existing falloff through Combine with Existing, Strength and Invert. The output feeds Do Falloff on every POPX operator, so snow on flat peaks, rock on cliffs or erosion in valleys only takes a few operators; Preview Falloff tints the selection red.

PAGEFalloff
Output Falloff AttributeOutputattrName of the attribute the falloff is written to.
StrengthStrengthBlends between the current value (0) and the combined result (1).
InvertInvertInvert the falloff, outputting 1 minus the value.
Falloff by HeightByheightSelects the samples whose Height lies between Minimum and Maximum Height.
Minimum HeightHeightminThe lowest selected height, in world units.
Maximum HeightHeightmaxThe highest selected height, in world units.
Height FalloffHeightedgeThe distance over which the falloff fades out beyond the height range, in world units.
Falloff by SlopeByslopeSelects the samples whose steepness lies between Minimum and Maximum Slope.
Minimum SlopeSlopeminThe lowest selected slope in degrees, where 0 is flat.
Maximum SlopeSlopemaxThe highest selected slope in degrees, where 90 is vertical.
Slope FalloffSlopeedgeThe angle over which the falloff fades out beyond the slope range, in degrees.
Falloff by CurvatureBycurvatureSelects the ridges and peaks, or the valleys and creases.
Full CurvatureCurvaturemaxThe curvature, per world unit, that gives a falloff of 1. Smaller values select gentler features.
Falloff by DirectionBydirectionSelects the slopes facing a direction (where water would run to).
DirectionDirectionangleThe facing direction in degrees in the plane. 0 points along the first axis, X for the ZX and XY planes.
SpreadDirectionspreadThe range of directions selected, in degrees.
Direction FalloffEdgeHow softly the direction selection fades out. 1 is a quarter turn.
Preview FalloffPreviewTints the height field red by the falloff (writes Color).
