Heightfield Remap

fields/heightfield-remap·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

Heightfield Remap maps a layer of a height field from Input Minimum and Maximum to Output Minimum and Maximum, bends the mapping with Gamma and optionally clamps the result. Compute Range reads the layer's actual range from the input and fills in the input values.

Use it on Height to rescale a terrain's elevation or widen its valleys, or on a falloff layer to reshape the falloff. The falloff blends the effect, so the remap can be limited to selected areas.

PAGERemap
LayerLayerThe layer to remap: Height rescales the terrain, a falloff layer reshapes the falloff.
Compute RangeComputerangeSets Input Minimum and Input Maximum to the range of the Layer on the input. Also runs when the Layer changes.
Input MinimumInputminSets the minimum of the input range.
Input MaximumInputmaxSets the maximum of the input range.
Output MinimumOutputminSets the minimum of the output range.
Output MaximumOutputmaxSets the maximum of the output range.
ClampClampKeeps the result inside the output range; when off, values outside the input range extrapolate.
GammaGammaBends the mapping: above 1 pushes values toward Output Minimum (wider valleys), below 1 toward Output Maximum.
Do FalloffDofalloffWeight the effect on each point by the Falloff Attribute.
Falloff AttributeFalloffattrThe point attribute, 0 to 1, that weights the effect.
Invert FalloffInvertfalloffUses one minus the falloff attribute.
Falloff StrengthFalloffstrengthScales the effect of the falloff attribute.
Border ValueBordervalueThe height read outside the height field when Border is Constant.
