Circle Pack

generators/circle-pack·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

Circle Pack fills the chosen Shape with circles (Disc, Rectangle, in the XZ plane) or spheres (Sphere, Box), biggest first, with smaller ones filling the gaps down to Min Radius. With Shape set to Input Volume, the spheres fill the input's closed mesh and stay inside it.

Max Radius, Min Radius and Padding set the sizes and gaps, Max Count caps the number of circles, and Tries per Cell trades packing tightness for speed. Output Points gives one point per circle with Radius and Scale for the Instancer, or choose Outlines or Surface for ready-made geometry.

PAGECircle Pack
RadiusRadiusThe radius of the disc or sphere.
Max CountCountSets the maximum number of circles placed, up to 1,000,000. Fewer are placed when the space fills up first.
Tries per CellTriespercellSets the number of tries in every free cell of the packing grid for each size, from 1 to 16. More tries pack tighter but take longer.
Min RadiusMinradiusSets the smallest circle radius. Raise it for fewer, bigger circles.
Max RadiusMaxradiusSets the largest circle radius.
PaddingPaddingSets the gap kept between circles. Negative values let them overlap.
Random SeedSeedNumerical value that initializes the randomization.
SegmentsSegmentsThe number of points around every outline and disc; spheres use half of it around and a quarter from pole to pole.
Copy Topology Info Back to CPUCpureadbackEnable copying the point count and topology information held on the GPU to the CPU.
