Particle Source

generators/particle-source·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

Particle Source fills a closed mesh with a lattice of particles at Particle Size and Packing Density, with optional jitter, or turns the incoming points in a Group into particles. Each particle gets its contact radius, mass and type as point attributes that the Nexus solver reads per point.

Particle Type sets Grain (particles that collide with friction) or Fluid (which also keeps a constant density). The Physical page sets mass and per-point multipliers for friction, repulsion, attraction, viscosity, surface tension and adhesion, and fluid Phase, so sand, gravel, water and honey can share one simulation, each with its own behavior.

PAGESource
Create Points from VolumeCreatepointsWhen on, fills the inside of the incoming closed mesh with a lattice of particles. When off, the incoming points in the Group become particles.
GroupGroupOnly the points in this group become particles when Create Points from Volume is off.
Particle SizeParticlesizeSets the particle diameter. Each particle's PointScale is set to half of it.
Packing DensityPackingdensityThe lattice spacing is Particle Size divided by Packing Density. Values above 1 over-pack, giving more, overlapping particles.
Jitter ScaleJitterscaleSets the random offset of the lattice points, as a fraction of the spacing.
SeedSeedNumerical value that initializes the randomization.
Copy Topology Info Back to CPUCpureadbackEnable copying the point count and topology information held on the GPU to the CPU.
PAGEPhysical
Set MassSetmassThe mass of every particle (Set Uniform).
DensityDensitySets the density in kilograms per cubic meter, used by Calculate Uniform. Water is 1000, sand about 1600.
Static FrictionStaticfrictionMultiplies the solver's Static Threshold for these particles.
Dynamic FrictionDynamicfrictionMultiplies the solver's Dynamic Scale for these particles.
Repulsion WeightRepulsionweightMultiplies the solver's Repulsion Weight for these particles.
Attraction WeightAttractionweightMultiplies the solver's Attraction Weight for these particles.
PhasePhaseThe fluid phase: fluids of different phases share density but not viscosity or surface tension.
ViscosityViscosityMultiplies the solver's Viscosity for these particles.
Surface TensionSurfacetensionMultiplies the solver's Surface Tension for these particles.
AdhesionAdhesionMultiplies the solver's Adhesion for these particles.
