Heightfield Measure

fields/heightfield-measure·v1.5.1
IN:1  OUT:1

Heightfield Measure computes the steepness in degrees, the gradient along the plane and the curvature from the height differences of a height field, and writes them as the Slope, Gradient and Curvature layers.

Once added, these layers stay up to date: every height field operator after this one refreshes them, so falloffs, scattering and shading can read the terrain's shape anywhere down the chain. Border sets how the edges are read.

PAGEMeasure
Slope LayerComputeslopeAdds a Slope layer: the steepness in degrees, from 0 for flat to 90 for vertical.
Gradient LayerComputegradientAdds a Gradient layer: the direction and rate of the steepest ascent along the plane, in world units per world unit.
Curvature LayerComputecurvatureAdds a Curvature layer, per world unit: positive in valleys and creases, negative on peaks and ridges.
Border ValueBordervalueThe height read outside the height field when Border is Constant.
