Cloth
simulations/cloth·v1.5.1
IN:1 OUT:1
SUMMARY
The Cloth operator turns every point of the input mesh into a particle and builds its own constraints from the rest shape: stretch along every edge, bend across every interior edge and an optional pressure volume per closed piece. It outputs the same mesh with its points moved by the simulation.
Pins can follow the input animation, a grabber drags points interactively, and falloff attributes scale stiffness and rest values per point. Self collision, ground, bounding box, mesh and field colliders, wind, drag and friction are built in, and the simulation runs as a feedback loop (Initialize, Start, Play) with a Target Feedback Loop POP for forces downstream; use Nexus to combine cloth with other materials.
PARAMETERS
PAGECloth
| Target Feedback Loop POP | Targetpop | A reference to a POP node downstream in the network whose data is retrieved one frame later. P, PartVel and PartForce are read back. |

| Attribute Range | Bendattrrange | Sets how many decades of stiffness the attribute spans in Logarithmic mode. |
| Enable Pressure | Enablepressure | Keep the volume enclosed by a closed cloth mesh. Squeezing one side inflates another, like a balloon. |

| Per Piece | Pressurepieces | In Volume mode, each connected piece keeps its own rest volume. Keep it on with several bodies in one input. |
| [+]Stiffness Scale | Pressurestiffscale | Sets the power of 10 applied to the pressure Stiffness. 1e+10 holds the target volume rigidly. |
| Stiffness | Pressurestiff | Sets the pressure stiffness, multiplied by Stiffness Scale. Higher values hold the target rest volume harder. |
| Damping Ratio | Pressuredamp | Sets the damping of the volume constraint as a ratio of critical damping, removing ringing when inflating. |
| Rest Volume Scale | Pressurerestscale | Scales the rest volume. Above 1 inflates, below 1 deflates. |
| Inflate Rest Lengths | Inflaterestlengths | Scales the stretch rest lengths of a pressurized piece by the cube root of Rest Volume Scale, so the volume can grow. Off, a stiff cloth keeps its edge lengths and barely inflates. |
| Pressure Scale | Pressurescale | Sets the overpressure as a constant outward force per area, scaled per point by Pressure Attribute. 0 keeps only the volume. |
| Pressure Attribute | Pressureattr | Sets the float point attribute that scales the pressure push per point. 0 makes the point ignore the pressure. |
| Pin Group | Pingroup | Point group of the input to pin. |
| Match Animation | Matchanimation | When on, pinned points follow the live input. When off, they hold the rest pose. |
| Display Pins | Displaypins | Display the pinned points. |
